FF Blitz > Final Fantasy X > Sphere Grid

FFBlitz Custom Sphere Grid (sphere numbers included)
FFBlitz Custom Sphere Grid (sphere numbers not included)

Instead of collecting EXP after battles and leveling up like the rest of the series, leveling up in Final Fantasy X is different. Characters individually collect AP. Once enough AP is collected they will receive one sphere level, which helps them level up. The way this happens is sphere levels allow them to move about on the Sphere Grid. This is a vast grid filled with different routes leading to various types of nodes which increase individual attributes of characters. To use the nodes one must collect and use different types of items called spheres. These items can be found after battles, but the rarest and most valuable ones are found in treasure chests around Spira.

Red Spheres: The most common type of sphere is the red
sphere. They can be found all around Spira and are even
dropped by the common beast.

Yellow Spheres:
The Yellow Sphere, rarest of all spheres,
enable characters to learn White Magic, Black Magic, Special
Abilities, and Skills that have already been learned by a fellow
party member.

Black Spheres: These spheres are used to unlock doors blocking
the way to abilities through out the grid. The higher the lock is,
the better the skill is and the harder the key becomes to find.

Purple Spheres: These enable characters to turn an empty
node on the grid into a node of their choice. The options vary
depending on what spheres you have. On top of that the new
node will give more than average, making it beneficial
for all characters.

Blue Spheres:
These are essentially teleporting nodes. A
character can move without any sphere levels to another spot
on the grid that another character has already claimed and can
then keep warping around.
